I bought a bundle of 12 postwar catalogs the other day and sandwiched in the middle was this catalog. The inside cover says it was printed in 1963 but all of Lionel's catalogs from '63 that I've seen over the years look nothing like this. I didn't come up with anything indentical while looking on the Bay either. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

That's a new one for me.
I've not seen that one either.
I know there were smaller "alternate" catalogs in the early 60s - printed on something closer to newsprint.
Good find! I've done well with all the Lionel HO car stuff I've handled.
Never thought I'd see the day when I've stumped everyone on a question! Of all things a catalog too!
That was part of an effort to appeal to a market segment that would not look beyond the front cover of a train catalog. They also issued a separate catalog for science kits in 1963.
What, me worry?
Thanks for the information Alfred and John! Does anybody know the value of the catalog? I paid $20 for all 12, which I thought was fair.
What you originally posted was the back cover of the 1963 Lionel Accessory catalog, which is quite common. The front cover was posted by John above. I have sold many of these catalogs over the years in new condition for $10-$12 and judging from the condition of your catalog, yours would be worth substantially less.

Ah that makes total sense now! Thanks for the clarification Bob!
Thanks, Bob.
I looked at this thread about 5 AM this morning. I couldn't wait to come home and see what others thought. I just opened my HSL archive, and there it was, page 40 of the 1963 accessory catalog.
