If I want to totally inulate a section of Atlas O gauge Snap Track, can I just insutlate the third (power rail) with an inulator connector and connect the two outside rails with normal connectors, or can I just insulate the power rail and not connect with two outside rails with a metal joiner? I only have one insulator and am up against the clock for a project I want ocmploeted for the grand kids this Thanksgiving.

Insulate the center rail. If you are out of insulated pins, just remove the center pin and leave it empty or place a piece of wood, like a toothpick , in the center rail.

Simply grind or file about 1/32" off of the end of the center rail at both ends of the insulated section. That's all the insulator does anyway. Done! (if you want some extra insurance, insert a tiny piece of plastic or any non conductive material in the gap) .
