My iPad has always required two clicks to open a thread.  Today it started using just one click to open a thread.  Yesterday I turned off JavaScript when the warning came out that there was a security threat when using JavaScript on both PCs and Apple computers.  I re-enabled JavaScript and the two-click requirement returned.  So the two-clicks is associated with running JavaScript.

I remember I had a number of strange problems with my iPad a year or so ago which included having to do a double click to open threads and the problem was that I was using an older OS. Once I upgraded the OS it worked fine.

Neil, my iPad only required one click to open a thread prior to installing the latest OS.  The two-click required showed up with the latest iPad operating system.

When I had my problem I posted here on the forum and Rich said he didn't know why as well. I then emailed Hoopla.com and had a series of very nice emails with a lady who I can't remember her name now and she highlighted my need to upgrade my OS which was the solution. Perhaps if you email them as well they can have some in depth dialogue with you and see if they can replicate the problem as they did with me.
