There are. At many "dollar stores" you can find key chains with 3-5 flashing l.e.d.s.

Tied together on a voltage regulator chip, triggered by a horn/bell relay, magnet, radio light change etc. Easier than you may think, and might be hard to spend $20 doing it.

Seriously, a siding, or small yard with idle trains, would give you something other than tile, and old magazines to look at.  

You could run a steamer on the branch line using JT Mega steam Christmas Pine and eliminate the need for air fresheners. A nice cost saving in the long run.

Better yet for the bit jobs you will need some helper service with a JT mega steam smoking tank car!

In this home the trains are confined to a room in basement city. If it was a seasonal layout only I would make temporary space in one of the garages

 This is too much fun. I'm having "Nothing but Trouble" with my "visions". None of which could work out here without a giant 10ft long plastic tube running right across the middle of the window into the shower.

 

 Combining the toiletries, and yard idea, Can you take over a closet for a few switchers worth of "personal hygiene trains"? "Its to clear the clutter from around the sink". Use "boys and "girls" sets, or a road names that compliment the rest of the room. Yea that's the ticket.

 

 And where is the Velcro for the extra controller?

I would expect that about 4" above the TP, 2" closer to the bowl ...yea that's were it goes.

 

"Extra" bathroom supplies will have to include extra batteries now too!
