Is this conventional Percy repairable? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

A few years ago I had to replace a motor in my Percy. Well one of the motor tabs broke off and I bought a new one. Keep in mind that it has been tested but the tab broke off while putting Percy back together. Can this be repaired or do I have to buy a new motor?

If you can solder a wire to the part of tab still on the motor, you may still have a usable motor.

Otherwise can type motors are not user repairable.

It's probably more trouble than it's worth to try to repair it. I had an identical issue with a motor that I couldn't get a spare for, and I popped the tabs on the end and disassembled it and repaired it. It was a PITA, but since I couldn't replace it...

It looks like there is still a bit of metal showing. Take 15 seconds once the soldering iron heats up....
