Maybe he was remembering/referring to all the "issues" with the newly released Line Mogul steam models (which still aren't fixed to my knowledge).

Nope, the Moguls are not fixed yet.

Last I heard, Lionel was putting the parts and pieces together for the fix.

Are they the locos than can't be run double headed with other types because of the gearing?

Not specifically that I know of but others may have better information.

These are the loco's that had a hesitation/jerkiness right out of the box at low speed operation.

My B&M doesn't seem to be as bad assome of the others.

thanks all I was thinking mogul while reading the email Lionel sent me and applied to the brass steam engine.

am sure it is nice but the 2014 big boy was last big purchase.

I did my share supporting Lionel 1980-1990's time for younger ones to carry the torch now.

Hope the mogul gets fixed for all
