I am having issues adding my LC+ 2.0 engines to the Base 3.  I know they are effectively TMCC locos.  I put the loco and the Base 3 in PGM mode, then in the CAB 3 app, I hit ENG, type in my desired engine number, then hit SET.  It appears to take it, but I cannot edit the loco and it disappears when I exit.  What am I doing wrong?

If you are entering a LC+2.0 as a TMCC engine, there is no PGM mode for the base, just the engine.  This would be entered as a TMCC engine in Base3.

Put the engine on the track power it up with it's switch in PGM.  Select the address you want and push "SET".  Once the sounds come on, slide the switch back to run.  That is the engine's ID assigned.

Now that you assigned an ID, swipe up and now enter the information in such as road number, engine type, control type and sound type.  When you're done hit back and answer YES to update the engine record.

Here is the important part...  If you have assigned your engine an ID 29 and below, and you accidentally hit SET, this is also the way to remove a LC and LC+ Bluetooth or RF engine from Base3.  By doing so it erases the Road number and other information even if it's a TMCC engine.  Only push SET when assigning an ID for engines or removing Lion chief RF or Bluetooth engines.  If you do accidentally push SET, just re-enter the road number, type, etc back in and update the engine record again.  The engine will still have it's TMCC ID.

Now I can imagine that you could enter it in as a Bluetooth engine by adding it to the Base3 using the Bluetooth programing procedure but hitting SET at any time will still remove it from the Base3.

Marty, the above won't work.

An LC20+ loco won't pair by placing the Base3 BLE switch to PGM mode, as it has TMCC.

The only BLE locos that can be paired while the Base3 is in BLE PGM mode are BLE engines *without* TMCC Radios.

You can still assign the LC20+ loco in addresses 10-29 as a TMCC loco; and it will remove any related entries in the database for the selected ID.  This clears the BLE record from the database while it sets the TMCC loco address, as it will be treated as a TMCC loco.  You can then enter the Road/Number, ect once you set the loco's TMCC ID.

Yes, pressing Set again at a later time will remove the Road Name/Number.  We may be able to improve this in the future by checking the BLE paired loco database, and if no BLE entries are present, skip clearing the database entry as it would be a TMCC loco.
