Happy Birthday Mike - I owned a local hobby shop north of New Orleans and settled on you as my distributor of choice for all our trains. When you launched your own line, I became a fan of your new scale equipment and really liked that we could now order F3s in 6 - 8 different road names in the same year! The 'other guy' only offered one or two for the most part. Thank YOU for for what you did to the hobby by breathing new life into it. (also for waking the other company up!)  The hobby as a whole greatly benefited for what you brought to it with your vision and execution. :-)

Today more so than any other time in my somewhat long life (76) it is hard to find people to look up to and respect.  Mike is one of those people I put in that category.  He has spent a major part of his life devoted to improving our hobby.  I think I recall that he was twelve when he went to work for Williams.  A watershed moment in our hobby occurred with the delivery of the Union Pacific Challenger.  Since then we have been given access to an ever growing number of varied engines and cars that as a kid running my 2343 around the track it never occurred to me that I would see.

So, thank you Mike for making this a most enjoyable hobby and Happy Birthday.
