@Bill Swatos posted:John, you wouldn't happen to have a link to hear this beauty sounding off, would you? The PS-3 sound file in the MTH model is PRR with the single chime Leslie A-200 that was ubiquitous on PRR locos. Looks like you've got a dual chime AND a five chime horn up there.
No I do not have any recordings of the horns sounding off but I will try to get some. We aren't using the locomotives much anymore so it's probably going to be a bit of a wait to capture the sound.
The Republic unit is also equipped with an air whistle. It's the preferred noise by the crew. I remember the man who ordered the engine telling me he wanted the whistle to be " a mournful southern sound", not a "northern screamer."
@pennsyfan Bob, thanks for your summary. I like that early Box Cab diesel.

I was getting this photograph ready for boxcar Sunday, and realized I may have not posted it for Switcher Saturday. If I did, well here it is again! MP15 by K-Line. Yes, now I remember because Bob and someone else gave me some scoop on it.

I'd love to model the Harlem Transfer Terminal. Tight yard with a unique double loop surrounding the transfer building. Car float service on the Harlem River too.
The original loco was a 0-4-0 steam engine with a Boxcab body.

It would be the ultimate Switcher's Delight.....

Bob………I can remember the east Bronx before the Bruckner Expwy. I can remember traveling to Manhattan on Bruckner Blvd. We would use the 3rd Ave Bridge. I have tried to search every storage disk in my brain. I would have had to pass that building while in the family car, but I have no memory of seeing it.

Do you need to be a member of something for this link to work? It seems broken to me.

John - link works fine for me. In both Pete’s original post, and Bob’s follow up.

I agree Bob, to me that would be an ultimate layout feature. Oh well, when I hit the lottery and get that 12 bay garage with a layout room above.
