IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!  Share your team track photos here!

Team tracks are vital to real railroad operations.  Team tracks are undesignated ( not serving a specific industry such as an oil distributor, warehouse, coal company, etc. ) spurs/sidings on which practically every kind of freight car can be on/off loaded.   Some passenger head end equipment and MOW equipment can also be on/off loaded on team tracks.  Team tracks can be found in remote rural locations, small towns, and large cities.

This week on the Free State Junction Railroad's team track number 2 located in lower Patsburg, we have a reffer load of meat being unloaded onto a tractor trailer.  The freight car is almost empty as the forklift operator swings his machine into the trailer oneIMG_4386IMG_4387IMG_4411IMG_4394IMG_4399IMG_4416IMG_4409IMG_4393IMG_4397IMG_4419IMG_4425IMG_4421IMG_4392 more time with another wooden case of half smokes.  Once fully loaded, the trailer is bound for delivery at several IGA Supermarkets within Patsburg and the surrounding metropolitan area.   Otto, the truck driver leans against his tractor and waits patiently as the loading crew finishes up.

Feel free to share your railroad's team track photos here.  The purpose of this thread is to inspire one another.  If your layout is a highly detailed museum quality layout or a simple loop of tin plate track with an undedicated spur feel free to post here.  Posts of real railroad team tracks are always welcome!

Changing team track scenes regularly is a way to keep layouts looking fresh and a way to keep our creative juices flowing!

If you miss posting on Tuesday no worries.  Just post any day of the week.   See ya next Tuesday on the TEAM TRACK!!

Happy Team Track Tuesday!

Patrick- We could use some ribs up north .

Mark- Great scene. Why do I get the feeling that we are going to see something new being built soon . I actually used to work with those type of trusses a lot. I have seen them delivered on special trailers with the point facing down.

Arnold- very busy on your railroad this morning.

SIRT- great weathering as usual.

Locally the winter weather is not letting up any time soon. With more snow expected tonight and tomorrow the local highway department ordered in more rock salt for the roads.

New Haven 115 has brought in a few loads of salt on track 2. One car has been emptied already and has been moved to the main while the other two cars are waiting to be emptied.

See you all next week on the Team Track.

Bob

Mark - great creative scene!  I love the trusses!  Did you make them?

Also we have the same choice in tractors - Mack B ( got to luv em! )   I see your Mack B is also missing a drivers side view mirror  I hope the drivers of our rigs don't get pulled over by the cops or ICC for this infraction

Yes, I did make these trusses, one plank at a time. You know, I never noticed the missing mirror. Must be a factory option.

Well, you learn something everyday. I didn't have the time to fully research how these trusses were transported by truck. I just modeled what seemed logical to me. Like I said, you learn something new everyday.

As for some future construction project...nothing specifically to the team track, except continuation of a theme. The post war suburia building boom.

One week it was bricks...IMG_0463IMG_0465

Another week, plywood...

Then Trusses. What's coming next...We'll see next week....I hope.

Mark: Where may I ask do you get the banding for your loads?  It looks Great ! Bob

Bob, you wouldn't believe how easy it is. The bands are just thin strips of black construction paper. Cut a thin strip using an exacto knife with a new blade. glue down one end, let it dry. Then wrap the strip around and glue down the other end, trim away any excess. There ya go.
