Hi everyone, I just purchased 2 sound modules from ITT. Has anyone used them? If you have, what if anything, should I do for optimum performance? I am excited about using them when they get here. If I can figure how to do it, I will make a sound video of them and post them on the forum.

One of the things I learned on the forum for optimal performance, was that the speaker needs to be installed in a can or tube...Gunrunner John and some other folks provided some pictures, but I can't find the link. I'll keep looking and post it if I can find it. I went from good sound to great sound. Terry
UPDATE: Here is the link I learned from. You won't be disappointed!
EastonO, thanks for the link. I know I have some spray can lids laying around. What did you use to seal them with? I know this isn't for my classic jazz recordings but I still would like a decent sound.
I've used them and found them to be great. I plan to use them in the future. I used speakers from Electric RR which come with their own baffle. I found the bass notes in my installation sounded even better with the shell on my passenger car then when off.

sorry had wrong video before.
ITT Products...super sound products/supplier.
You should know that George is a VERY accommodating guy. Have a special 30-second sound sequence you'd like? Something personal? Special sounds or a combination of sounds? Send George an email and he'll send back a sample 30-sec sound sequence... usually within a couple days... for your approval. Once approved, he'll put it on the chip. For example, I wanted a tugboat sound...specific engine/throb sound, specific whistle tone, seagulls, sloshing water, etc.. He nailed it within a day or two.
The special sound modules associated with a scenic vignette are the fun things for kids/visitors. A push button on the layout fascia is irresistible.
BTW, be careful how you use ITT module HQ2010!

Listen to dkdkrd...the ITT modules are awesome. I don't have #2010 but I have #2001 outhouse sounds and a bunch of others.
I run them continuously at a volume that you can hear when you approach the scene but quiet enough that you rarely hear more than one at a time.
I agree with everyone else that the speaker enclosure will help. I've used the Atlas 21st Century Signal System equipment shacks several times; just cut out the back and hot glue the speaker in it.
Visitors love to try to find all the sounds.

I just used white silicone sealer to attach the speaker to the can or pvc, etc. I let it sit overnight and all was secure.
I have also had 2 special sounds made and they are fantastic!

I want to thank all of you for your replies. They have made me even more excited about getting the modules. George was very helpful with my questions.
My two modules are #400 cow and #506-2 brook. I have a small corner area with a barn and some Woodland Scenic Holsteins and I have a small stream that the running water will really liven it up!
Thanks for the post Paul looking to do the same now
