Thanks. A little taller than the Jak. It's 21mm. So I'll have to wait for the whole set. They do look good.
Chuck
After e-mailing Big Jim today with questions. He was very helpful because I could not figure out all the parts I needed on the web-site.
I did order the same set up he did today. The company was very helpful on the phone.
Just info for you.
Larry
Ok...think I'll order again. And just wait if necessary...
Thanks.
I have a new JAK set somewhere . If I can find it I will sell it.
Raildog@comcast.net
Thanks
Mark
Okay Mark. I will search as soon as possible and let you know.
ound them, moving to the For Sale Forum
I was going to jump on those, I wanted a second set as well.
Mark--
Re JAK Bearing Blocks,Cleaning Pads and Instructions.
Sorry for the poor photo....
I bought this set in Dec 2002 and never used it.
Is this what everyone is talking about?
I guess at this age they would be classified as new/old stuff.

Not sure of the brand of the roller base but we have set up a "RR Park" on the club layout with a UP FEF and a PRR K-4s. So far so good, biggest concern so far is making sure the smoke units don't run dry. They run on an 8min timer once activated.
I emailed you last night with my intentions to purchase your rollers. I work second shift and was not able to respond early this morning. Please let me know the details to move forward with this purchase.

Dewey, if you haven't sent them, you can sent them to Mark, he did speak first for them.
John
They went out to you about 20 minutes ago.
I feel badly about this now. But I received no email from Mark at any time. Not even in my junk mail.
If you agree and Mark agrees to your price you can send the blocks to Mark. I will pick up the S&H tab. They are already in a small Priority Box.
If you have already sent me payment I will refund it .
Dang!
I don't want any hard feelings, so I'll just send them off to Mark and he can send you the money. Don't worry about the shipping, I'll get you next time.
I'll send Mark an email.
You can contact Mark and beat the $50 out of him.
John
I am about to exit the selling and shipping business on the Forum. And, let the auction pirates have it all.
Hang in there. Nice guys here and it sounds all solved.
I so apologize for the cluster, I tried to email Dewey as not to tie up the forum and obviously it did not go through
( modern technology )
Anyway I will add extra funds to Dewey's payment to cover your postage. If ever we meet first drink is on me !!!
Thanks and happy railroading
Mark
Email received last night from Mark[raildog]. Thanks to gunrunnerjohn for his cooperation as "middleman" in straightening out my salesmanship. My apologies to all concerned.
Mark, if you come to York, I'll take you up on that drink.
Here are some photos of my new Bachrus Engine Roller Stand Set (A second set of rollers was also purchased to accommodate articulated locos, but not shown in second photo). It appears to be well made and of very high quality.
The only problem that I have with the set is that the rear stirrup is too short to support the loco trailing truck. I have a note in to the folks at Bachrus about that. I may just have to buy a couple more short stirrups as I would prefer everything be supported.
Ok my Bachrus runners came today. Look just like this but I ordered an extra set of "The Saddles, Two" (rollers), a set of "The Stirrups" to get extra short stirrups (plain rails), and two sets of the "3 Rail Adapter". And also I ordered an extra "Long Stirrup Assembly" which I probably didn't need. They are great. Very stable.
Nice looking stands. You can also order a wooden custom running stand from Collectors Choice Trains he is out of Kansas.
Chuck I ordered the same thing you did, I guess Brain up there in Canada is wondering what the OGR forum is by now.

Yes, excellent product. BTW, Brian emailed me and talked me out of ordering too much that I didn't need. Nice company and person to work with.
A new JAKROLLERS web site will be back up soon at jakrollers dot com. The JAK products can be purchased over the phone with the number listed on the web site.
Jeff
I tried to contact your company, and they don't return emails to the address: info@jaktool.com
Do these blocks still exist or not? Are you selling them or not? I looked all over your site www.jakrollers.com and didn't find anything close.
EDIT: I decided to call them and actually got Jeff on the phone. They still do have the rollers, but the website hasn't been updated. I ordered a set.
Anyone needing these should call, as that seems to be the way to get them.
GRJ, How different are the JAK Roller Sets verses the Micro-Mark?

How soon they forget. Remember this picture I posted from earlier in the thread? This is the comparison of the JAK and Micro-Mark rollers.

OK OK I remembered something about them but forgot it was covered......
I think the ones in the center are the Micro-Mark and the Outside ones are the Jaks.
Hopefully, GRJ can confirm!
Correct Dennis, the MM ones are in the center, the JAK blocks are outside. I have a second set coming, so now I can put the bigger stuff up on a full set of blocks for testing.
I was debating selling the JAKs when I got the Bachrus which I like...but reticent because the JAK are great too. The Bachrus are more stable for very light engines.
With two sets, I can just run a clip lead to the center roller of light engines and not use the blocks with the center contact.
John,
Resurrecting this thread from the year plus hiatus...I ignorantly bought a set of rollers off eBay and have no idea of the manufacturer but I'd almost bet on Micro-Mark even at $20 more than their list. I've read a bunch of stuff here and elsewhere on rollers but have not found a price for the JAK rollers and looks like they are still not on the JAK Tools website. Guess I will call tomorrow, 10/19/2015, and see what's up.
I found no followup from you about the second set. Did they actually arrive and are you pleased? Any chance of posting a photo?
Thanks,
Richard Snipes
Richard,
I have a total of three sets of rollers, two of the JAK brand and the MicroMark ones. I actually end up using nine or ten at times, so it's useful.
The MM ones only have a single center roller pickup, the JAK sets have two. The JAK sets are about 1/16" taller as well, but it's not really significant. Both will do the job.

John,
Thank you for the quick reply and photos. Looks like I ended up with a Micro-Mark set. I think I'll give JAK a call and see what's available. Theirs look quite nice. On the Micro-Mark website their rollers are less than I paid on eBay. Lesson learned is to check the OGR forum beforehand. This is fine information. Time to wake up a few sleeping locomotives.

I like the JAK rollers, they were a bit spendy at $60 for a set of four, but they work well. If you're at York, you'll see them under my Allegheny on the Super-Chuffer display stand.
Those were Crest rollers. I bought some in May, and checked their website yesterday only to discover that they list rollers in HO and N scales, only.
Just picked up my newest set of JAK rollers from the P.O. that I ordered from JAKTool earlier this week. This makes the third set.
In 2006 I designed and built first dynamic test stand around first set of JAK rollers. Deigned it to be able to test all engines I had including PRR S1, a Big Boy, any AA units, and including AA Centipede.
Was designed to fit the top shelf of train work bench made from a rebuilt old schoolmistress's desk plus a top narrowed to fit on top. It includes a track with an operating section to test couplers and operating cars. This track is used to stag an engine allowing that the rollers and support tracks to be positioned to ease transfer to rollers.
Building on work bench.
Test stand with PRR S1 and NS OCS engines.
Made four different support section tracks to support front trucks and rear truck and tender. One of these has a powered center rail for steam engines like Lionel and some MTH.
Decided wanted to be able to take test-stand to shows. I take either a Z4000 or Atlas 80, DCS, TMCC/Legacy and a 120v portable power supply. Found a perfect size gun case.
I take rollers in a separate toolbox. One day will make a box for the rollers to fit into case. The newest JR. stand is in front of case.
This is pic of JR. setting in case for size perspective.
This is JR.
With this design can test any engine at any speed including flat out full speed. Also using an 8-inch makeup mirror set behind stand can see action of both sides.

Thank you for the info on JAK rollers. I have set from way back. Do you have Jeff's email or contact information?
After ordering another set (Nov, 2015) Jeff gave me this address to post for anyone wanting to contact them
info@jaktool.com
Here is an image of my dynamic test stands with JAK Rollers. The back rollers are from original order and then second order. The second set were modified for me based on a request. At that shipment Jeff sent me parts to modify the first set. The newest set are in the foreground. Jeff shipped these to me incorporating the same modification even thought I did not request it (I guess based on records maintained from first transactions). Jeff cannot be beat or matched for that matter.

edit: Added image of JR. stand with all JAK rollers. The set on right are the originals, on left the second set with wheel cleaning pockets, and in middle the latest set brought back in Nov. 2016.
You might make out the red paint dots added to the outside races. This is very helpful at the very slowest speeds and also to determine if and/or when both sets of truck wheels are moving together!
