They pulled me back in !
I just saw the new Lionel catalogue. I will have to go back to work. I will need a lot more money and a lot more shelving. Perhaps having a layout would help.

You and me both, SS.
Spoilers much?
They got me too. Sticker shock or not, they pulled out the stops for this one. I'm likely going to pick up several of the new sound boxcars. If I weren't getting married this year, I'd also be picking up a GS-4. However, I doubt "the boss" would appreciate that.
Actually, the big-ticket items aren't doing all that much for me this go-around. Oh sure... the temptation is there, but the price tags make it real easy to walk away.
But I will say this... there is a TON of cool stuff sprinkled throughout the RTR and Holiday Memories catalogs. Will probably have more fun browsing those two catalogs this year, while the Signature Catalog becomes the dust-collector. For sure... a VERY pleasant change -- not to mention a bit easier on the wallet. Certainly not out of the woods completely... there's still some damage to be done in those catalogs. But the fun-factor should be high.

Okay. Ouch...
First, MTH recently tempts me with the Reading T-1 {plus the CSS and AFT} and C&O H-8!
Now Lionel hits me again with the same temptations!!! Be still my beating heart..... I don't know that I can resist assimilation this time.... lol....
And, I know my wife will say 'no'..... lol....
I have 2 MTH T-1's so I don't foresee any more large ticket items. Just bought a small engine from RMT today, Reading cab # 635. The Frau might get on me if I buy much else right now.

That's right. You took the oath of the transformer and the track. You can't discuss this thing of ours with outsiders. You can work with any of the Five Scales per "The Commission". You cannot leave until and unless you have trained at least one apprentice.
to me the Signature out of price range and the RTR well it's the lionchief stuff and looks like I'm going to be looking at MTH and Williams in the future if I want a new engine as I just can't deal with lionchief
Fortunately, I've been vaccinated against such things. It's called focus. If it ain't west of Chicago, it ain't on my radar. I yawn and smile, while most of the people here drool.
Leave the gun, take the caboose.
Hilarious!!! So true with this catalog. Great stuff that I never would have guessed.
