I recently picked up one of K-Line's B&A Berkshires (K3670-1426CC). It came in the mail today and when I popped it on the track, I realized the feedwater heater was bent downwards. Can I fix this/bend it back without destroying the detail?

B&A Berkshire - Bent Feedwater Heater

I am already looking at sending it in for repairs (no sounds), but am thinking about trying repairs myself. I would really hate to destroy this beautiful piece though, so before I risk butchering the smokebox I thought I'd ask.

I don’t have this engine but do have similar engines. The pipes are very likely brass rod not diecast. I believe you can just pull the tank back slowly to straighten it. The pipes at the top are not attached with solder or adhesive so the smoke box front can come off. Remove the shell and see if there is a screw the holds the tank to the front too.
