I have seen some older K-Line switches from time to time (K-0276) that are similar to the lionel o27 gauge switches. They do have separate posts for auxiliary power and do have lights on the switch and the controller. My question is if these work like the O27 lionel switches in that they stay powered the entire time a car is parked on the switch, or if they shut off like the O22 switches? I do know they are solenoid powered, but that's about it. Thanks

The older versions were soleniod powered. Towards the last couple of years of K-line they were powered by a variation of a DZ-1000 switch machine. These have limit switches that cut off power once the points are thrown. I installed several on my sister's layout as replacements for Lionel 1122's. Found out that the geometry was NOT the same. Had to modify the track plan to accomodate the K-Lines footprint.
I do have a couple of the newer kline 42" radius switches with the motor. Do you know if the solenoid stays powered on the older kline switches like it does on the Lionel O27 switches? Or does it cut off like an O22 switch?

That's the wrong switch for O-27 1122 replacement. The direct replacement identical footprint for O-27 is the K-0265 & K-0266:
