K-Line Passenger Car Pickup Roller Source

      Brassseur Electric Trains bought most of K-Line's parts when K-Line went out.  They have a web site or you can call 989 793-4753 and ask about your particular needs.

     I just finished restoring a set of K-Line Milwaukee Road 15" aluminum passenger cars and got all the parts I needed from Brasseur. (Yes, I said "restored" because this set was damaged in Hurricane Sandy four years ago!)

    It looks like you may need a heavyweight six wheel truck pickup roller. They had the pickups I needed, or the entire truck if I needed one of those. Give them a try.

Brasseur is also having parts made as well as old stock.

I was hoping someone would have something in the junkbox, but if not I'll have to consider Brasseur's.

I may just have one and I'll go look. I believe mine are from other makes. You mention it has a larger hole that maybe I can identify the right one with?

The cars I recently converted to 2 rail were GGD. I have removed others. I may have drilled out the rivet end though?

As I'm looking thru my parts for this I remembered I have K-line cars. So I flipped one over and another.... they look like this.

just thought you could always screw a spare engine type onto the truck as well?

This is weird? In a rush to organize my bench before remodeling, I threw stuff in new bins. I do see 2 diameters of the pins. I found 4 rollers that are all for the narrow pins. I'll keep looking.

Actually, the ones I tried to replace it with had the larger hole, the roller on the car has a pretty skinny pin.  All of my stock have larger pins and wouldn't work without hacking the car, something that I didn't want to do unless necessary.

So would these ones with say about a 2mm hole work? I'll have to measure exactly for you. These came off of old GGD cars. The rollers are very heavy metal.

Ah sugar. I mis-read your first post. That's an hour I'll never get back!

The pins measure just a hair over 2mm and the roller is just over 11mm long. (I'm using a cheap venier caliper set.)

The K-Line rollers are 10mm wide and 8mm in diameter.  The pin looks to be an odd one, it's about 2mm inside the roller, and the end is necked down to 1mm for the crimp.

I think I may have to figure out what I'm using for a rivet pin, I don't have anything like that in my rivets!  I may have to resort to Brasseur's after all.

I found this roller John. Not sure if you can use it.

Yeah, this rivet is re-useable I would guess but you'd have to drill the other end of the holder bigger. I could send you a holder too if you need it. Then you'd have to drill out the truck's rivet anyways!

I'll keep looking but I don't have any K-line passenger cars with that set-up. I should label stuff.

Thanks for looking guys, I guess I'll check with Brasseur's and see if they have the actual part.  For this car, I don't have the rivet, it was missing with the roller.  I may have to just do the whole truck, or at least the baseplate.

The car looks like a 'Heavyweight' car.  If Brasseur does not have what you are looking for, I may.  I purchase Heavyweight cars no one wants for parts.

It is indeed an 18" heavyweight car.  The rollers are riveted in, so I suspect I need at least the bottom of the truck with the roller wrapped around it.  Obviously the sideframes, wheels, etc. are fine.

That plastic plate snaps out.  I would think a variety of rollers could be made to work. G
