Happy Sunday morning everyone.

I have a K-Line Long Island RS 3 with TMCC to which I am adding a ERR Cruse Commander M.  Installation went fine until I reached the point where the instructions want me to locate the “serial data line cluster wire nut”.  Of course on this K-Line there are no wire nuts anywhere.

Looking at the mainboard (Rev B) there is a connector (J11), nearby the motor connectors, with a blue and a green wire which match the wires from the Cruise Commander jack (J4).  These two wires connect into a cluster of wires which are also connecter to the J3 Molex motor connector on the Cruise Commander (and formerly the DCDR board).

Are these the correct wires to splice into?

If so, the instructions mention only connecting the blue wire (pin 1), is the green (pin2) unneeded?

Also I assume that the J11 plug remains connected to the mainboard.

Any help is greatly appreciate otherwise I will wait until Tuesday to call ERR.

Thanks

Thanks Bill.

Unfortunately, this hasn't worked out as I had hoped.

With the Cruise Commander installed we only go forward.  Just for fun which pin is 24?  Nothing is labeled or keyed.

I set the feature as per the instructions (#8 RS with smoke).  Still only one way but like a rocket.

Back to the DCDR - everything works fine.

AAARRRRGGGG!

Following your suggestion, John, I contacted ERR and ordered a new R2LC board.  I still had some problems but ERR kept trying to help finally asking to just send them the locomotive.

A few days after sending it back I received an email telling me they found and corrected the problem.  I received the locomotive back today and it works great.

I have nothing but things to say about Ken and Andrew of ERR.  They answered emails promptly and, ultimately solved my problems.

Also thanks to John and Bill for helping.

Left out an important word "good".  Thanks all.
