Ran my new K-Line scale Hudson at the club with a short postwar train, it likes the O-72 curves better than the O-34 I have at home! Just needs a 4 chuff cam, a project for later this year...

Pretty impressive. Does it still have the original motor?
Pete
Yes still the stock little motor, I'm thinking of sending the motor to harmonyards for the little Pittman swap, when I'm ready to also do the chuff cam.
Good looking loco...not that short a train either. Good luck with it.
Don
I like you definition of short.
I think what some folks are telling you is to please be careful that you don't overload the 'small' motor as these are known to give out under too much of a load. That is far from 'a short train' if all/most are PW freight cars! Modern rolling stock would probably be fine but the PW cars can subject the loco to quite a load...
I keep an eye on the temperature, still felt room temp after an hour of running, which is when I usually switch locomotives. I topped up the grease, the old stuff wasn't in the greatest shape. I also have a K-Line scale Mikado that will either be swapped in when needed, or perhaps doubleheaded with the Hudson (if I can figure that out lol, I'm used to my old KW, not the TMCC and Legacy that the club has)
I have a client’s rebuilt Kline Hudson just about wrapped up.…..just as the Central proper did after a fresh overhaul, Hudsons would run a local then come back to the shop for an inspection before being released into the wild,…….hopefully this evening I’ll give her a test run and post it here on Matt’s thread if he don’t mind, …..after the test runs, the engine receives 3RS equipment anyways, so off to the abyss for that engine…..so if Matt don’t mind, what a fun little thread….😁

Hmmm... Sounds like a monopoly.
I heard they never really go back to their owner, just leased back for an indeterminate amount of time.

Go right ahead Pat, I always enjoy seeing your work!
Rebuilt Hudson J1c # 5231 runs empties on a local before heading west for her normal day job, …..
ex Kline Hudson, MTH chassis, Pittman CPR motor swap, with an additional 2.2 lbs. of added ballast weight….she’s not even breaking a sweat on this run,….15-20 heavies is what she’s built for, …..without a helper…..😉
