Kadee couplers in Atlas coupler boxes.

Hi,

Has anyone ever tried mounting a Kadee #746 into an Atlas coupler box? I'm looking for a way to mount Kadees on Atlas cars and Atlas, for one reason or another, has decided to make the job much harder for those that wish to use Kadees. Since the #746 has a longer shank similar in length to the Atlas coupler, I was wondering if anyone has any luck using it inside of an Atlas coupler box?

I think what you'll find is the slot in the Kadee shank is narrower than the slot in the Atlas shank. A file should fix that.

On my 89' flat's I just took the atlas coupler off it's mounting pad and a Kadee goes right on. Then screw the pad back on the car.
