Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has seen a video on how to replace stock Lionel couplers with KAdee 740's. I have a Union Pacific Lionel 6-18205 Union Pacific Dash 8 40c. that I would like to convert. I have read alot already and watched videos for rolling stock but nothing for engines as of yet.

Have you checked out the 3-Rail SCALE (3RS) Forum?
I did an advance search on here and found alot of stuff, but no videos.
do a google search.
I did, the best I got was from Laidoffsick. He has some great stuff, just has not got that far in his videos yet.

I did a search with "kadee couplers o scale video"
and found several that were over 10 minutes and very detailed.
Some helpful tips:
Excellent video Mrs. LOS
The only issues you'll face is (1) removing whatever is needed from the stock engine, (2) drilling any holes for remounting of things like the pilot and mounting the coupler box, and (3) determining how thick a shim if any is needed to get the kadee to the correct height.
It's like any other modification made in this hobby...the hardest thing to do is to get up the gumption to make that 1st cut.
I did learn something though, I have a few of the short shank couplers on the front of my engines and I need to take them out and file off those small side tabs to allow more swing.
