Thanks Dave, good news. A friend and I were lamenting the loss of Keil Line just last weekend.
John and Martha worked together with John taking the lead on model railroading and Martha on the doll house. Two wonderful people that were always a joy to deal with.
It's news to me Dave. Thank you very much for posting this. I've never heard of Scale City Designs so I just checked out their website and they have some cool stuff.

Yay! Neil Line had the best right of way detail parts.
That is definitely good news. Thanks.
Great news
Great news! Had the pleasure of meeting Martin Milner today at the Strasburg show. Gonna be a great fella for the product line.
I miss John
Ditto all the above posts! This is really excellent news. I got to meet Marty yesterday at the show as well. They have a custom sign making business going as well. Check this out!

I purchased their products at the O Scale conventions held in my area. I purchased at times through the mail. I agree. They make a great product. A web site with photos and ordering are just the thing this great line of products needs.
Good News! And they will be close to my location. wonder if he will be at York next week?

No. Will be at Cleveland 2 rail show on October 31st.
There was a rumor that Des Plaines Hobbies (GASP) was looking at purchasing the line, which would have meant a huge pricing increase, in order to feed the owners' (DPH) ego.
I don't know what you mean by HUGE price increase but what really bothers me about the DPH site is NO PICS! I am still attempting to buy a pig without a poke and referring to OLD 1980's P&D hobby shop cats for limited product pics.
Yep that's Ron always wanting to have it all and do nothing with it. Yes the web site sucks big time. I will not purchase on line with out pictures. A few years ago DPH came to O scale West had one table and a bunch of flyers to place orders from. The also had samples of 1 each of the O scale America parts. Now the kicker was I wanted to buy from the table and they would not sell to me. It was fill out the form pay and will send them to you.
My reply to Ron was "The hell I will." Yep biggest moron I ever saw.

I called Marty Milner this morning regarding the availablilty of a Keil Line item, he was at Keil Line in Wonder Lake,IL., inventoring and packing the former owner stock items, the part I required was out-of-stock and he requested my e-mail and would contact me when available. As mentioned in previous responses he said that he would have an illustrated printed and web page catalogs available in the future, sales can be directly from him or through distributors like Walthers in the future no time line given he said he acquired Keil Line about two weeks ago. Marty is very easy to talk with and when has a vendor last asked a person for their e-mail address and would notify them when the item was available for sale.
Was trolling eBay this morning before leaving for work and the former Keil Line products are "on the streets". Saw some truck kits (less wheels just like in the Keil days) and caboose bays listed. The website looks nice and there's a nice tribute to John and Martha Keil of the main menu. That class act alone makes me want to do business with them.
Don't think people should be too hard on Ron/Desplaines Hobbies. He is still in business with a very well stocked traditional hobby shop - by my reckonining, the last in the Chicago market. No small accomplishment.
This is good news, for me. I have used some Keil Line products in installing interiors into some older Weaver Milw Rd passenger cars. I think that it's really interesting that they are only a short distance from me in Lordstown, OH. Hope to see these guys at some local shows. While Keil was pretty much a scale two-rail "0" producer, lots of stuff they made was usable by serious 3-rail, Hi-Railers. They would do well to advertise in "0" Gauge Magazine.

Matt,
Purchased some items from them earlier this year and you are correct, very nice folks to deal with. While I miss talking with John about all sorts of things, it seems Martha made a great choice to continue the business on.

They've been increasingly active there since last year and have also been very visible at the Chicago and Strasburg meets this year with a very extensive inventory that reaches well beyond those items that were listed in the old Keil Line pamphlet catalog.
Current OST has a review of one product and more will follow in the future.
So a question from the uninitiated to this side... What did Kiel Line make? Was that also K Line, or another company entirely?
If your still looking for a Keil product, try P&D, Pat carried the line.
I've done business with Marty & Co. and they're great! They're doing their best to bring back as much of the line as possible and doing a terrific job.

Keil Line produced O Scale detail parts and trucks while K-Line was a manufacturer/importer of various O Scale and O Gauge trains, track, and other products.
The Scale City Designs catalog is online and they have a lot of cool stuff. I have bought several things from Marty direct and he has many of the parts listed on EBay as well. Glad to see all these items are still available.
This and Berkshire Valley reincarnated! If somebody resurrects Walthers-All-Nation car kits, though, I would be floored. I hope these two make York, Chicago and Strasburg. I just need to remember "SCD" when I want a "Keil-Line" part NOW!

Scale City has already been at both Chicago and Strasburg this year.
Berkshire Valley was a Chicago 2 years ago, but not since.
Both have on-line stores.
Berkshire valley just seems to be selling off inventory and not restocking. Nothing new.

I just need to track down the moulds, and then that might be a possibility

Well, maybe not new items (been a long time since BK offered any new parts), but they are offering pre-painted detail parts which for some folks might be attractive. OTOH, the new owners were showing a laser cut station that one time they were in Chicago - never have heard anything more about that direction.
What BK has done however is to discontinue all of the freight car detail parts. Maybe Scale City can grab the molds for those and meld those into their line of parts.....
