Sorry if I missed an earlier thread about this, but here's a photo of the PS-1 North Pole Central boxcar relased by Lionel in December. As an admirer of the Lionel PS-1 boxcars and a Christmas lover, I think this is a great train item.

I don't recall seeing anything on the North Pole Central PS-1 box car, I received mine back in the beginning of December.
Back in August I did a thread with photos of Lionel's North Pole Central's GP-35 #2525 after I had received mine. Lionel did a great paint job on this one. I liked mine so much I picked up the matching powered North Pole Central GP-35 #2512 on ebay for $285.
Lionel's North Pole Central GP-35
I'm a big fan of the Lionel North Pole Central traditional size items. I have just about every one of them except for a couple of the more recent ones that don't really fit the theme like the sky blue colored jet snow blower and the green elf hand car with the yellow logo. So, I was initially not very happy to see Lionel 1) move from traditional size to scale size NPC items and 2) change the paint scheme.
But, I think it is a blessing in disguise for me as I have plenty of Christmas train stuff, particularly the NPC scheme (started way back in 2004). So, I'm saving money by not being tempted by scale items like freight cars and cabooses. The GP-35 is small enough to work with traditional size cars, but I'm able to resist the temptation as I don't want to change to the new paint scheme.
From reading the comments, it sounds like Lionel has made a good move in producing scale items in a new NPC paint scheme and attracting hobbyists who might not otherwise purchase Christmas train items. I'm glad to see Christmas train products selling, so Lionel continues to invest time and money to make Christmas themed items.
FedEx just dropped off my 2nd one yesterday and by luck I also received a train set so I set up the train set on the carpet and tried out the caboose. Believe it or not this is the first smoking caboose that I have tried out in many years (at least 30 yrs) so I really did not know what to expect. Well I did not put a stop watch to it but it seemed to take about 15 minutes before any smoke came out of it. And it had a small steady column of smoke come out. But it is a very nice caboose.
