That and change up the pilot and I might be in. It would be a close enough model in my world. Presently I have 3 different eras of NYC L2a’s. From the first issue to the latest Legacy. Might be my favorite Lionel engine. In it’s present state the New Haven is just a NYC engine with a different road name. But the Vandy tender would set it apart. Microscale has NH decals. I could just make my own for little cost. I really don’t need 3 NYC versions.

We began discussing this on another thread that had been deleted because it was in the wrong forum. .....wishful thinking for Lionel to add or make a Vanderbilt tender for what you guys want. .....as I’ve mentioned before, the 6-18056 Hudson that came with a Vandy tender would be a perfect stand in.....I have a couple singles with no home,.....don’t hold your breath for Lionel to make a more accurate R-2,.....you guys will have to build one,....I’m sure with some PSC parts, a more accurate representation of the NH’s pilots could be achieved,......the Central’s L2a and the NH’s R-2 are practically kissing cousins having both been built at Alco Schenectady around the same time, although each railroad had its own ideas of what went where and why, they’re pretty close,.....long story short, you could make a very close R-2 from a L2a,......

I have been communicating with Steve of McMuffins.  He is looking into the possibility of having Lionel do a special run. Time frame is unkown.

He would need 25 orders. Again just researching at this time.

Hmm, well, timeframe would be whatever his earliest he could get the vital information on what one he would be doing. His time is dwindling as he only has at or around when the BTO timeline allows. I think one of his other endeavors ran a few days or slightly thereafter. Be interesting to see what he has in mind.

Funny thing is, I still haven't decided on anything for preorder yet, and I have been thinking about the New Haven. I don't have any New Haven items and have only seen the colorful diesel engines so this intrigues me. I'll have to decide and figure stuff out. I'll also have to message Steve(Mr. Muffin) maybe next week about another question on something.
