I have a bunch of custom O-gauge wooden crossties made by Kappler's.  I am getting ready to glue these under my tubular track to make it look better.  The prototype size represented is 7" x 9" x 8' 6" ...  the actual size of each tie scaled down is .146" x  .188"  x  2.125"  ...   What is the best way to glue these ties and also, how should they be 'spaced' underneath the Tubular track ?

Thanks in advance.

I would use regular wood glue.  Elmer's is the most popular.  Another thought however, is you can nail them into the baseboard.  Drill holes in the ties and into the baseboard.  Then push a brad into the tie an on into the baseboard. There is a tool called a Brad Pusher.  Makes pushing brads a cinch.  Oh, make the hole slightly smaller in diameter than the brad.  This will allow for easy track changes.  And we all know that we never ever make changes to our track.....LOL

I  cut wood ties for my tubular track.  1/2 " wide, 1/4 inch high, 2-1/4 inch long, painted flat black.  I place 3 ties between the metal Lionel ties.   I placed the ties loose under the rails, then cut strips of cardboard and put them under the tie to snug it up against the rail.  Then spread my ballast and added water glue mix to the ballast.  When the glue set up the ties are held in place.
