Steve, Nice stuff. I really like your L&N.
Thanks. Some of these are several years old now and most were taken with my cell phone.
Very nicely done steve. You have certainly captured the look and feel of the prototype..not just the trains, but terrain and structures as well
I agree! The scenic design and execution is great!
Nice looking layout.
Outstanding layout.
Steve...exceptional realism, and excellent equipment! I'd seen several of your photos elsewhere on a website and always hoped for more...it's good to see them here now. Did I read where you plan to change your prototype focus in the future?

Steve, I have a buddy in Clarksville. How far is that from you?
Very nicely done. Thanks for posting.
The scenery in the first photograph featuring the Norfolk & Western x 2 is most impressive down to the smallest detail.
Looks really nice!
Thanks guys. Pretty much worked on the layout about 2 Saturdays a month from 2003 to about mid 2010 with a good friend of mine. I have always been an L&N fan. When I went from HO to O scale I soon realized that there was not much L&N to be found in O scale. I then adopted the N&W and C&O as they interchanged with the L&N and I really liked the articulateds.
The layout is still there, but I do not work on it much anymore as we plan to move soon. It is roughly 30 by 30 and about half finished. I decided not to work on the yard area and roundhouse area as I wanted to save as much track as possible in the move.
RR, Clarksville is about 30 to 40 minutes north of me. I know a fellow in Clarksville that used to go up to Evansville to run Rick Rideouts layout. I have been there 3 or 4 times myself, but not in a very long time. I think he burnt himself out building that giant thing.

I believe I've seen this layout on youtube. Is this correct? Great pics and a super layout!

BEAUTIFUL STEVE! JUST SPECTACULAR! Love those Key L&N units, and the Koh's!
You made my day!
Steve
I looking forward to seeing more pictures of the mining town.
Thank you for posting the photos of your wonderful railroad.
Steve,
Great looking stuff there. Sorry to hear you will be deserting the N&W, though. Weren't you going to mix in the C&O as well at one point?
THis is outstanding Steve! Love the colors and varying terrain. Reminds me of the Sunday River Productions N&W video. Very convincing......
Steve,Very impressive. Post more pictures before you tear down this masterpiece.
On a side note I remember reading about Rick Rideouts layout was it HO in model railroader 15 years ago.

nice pics steve!!! looks better in person guys!!!
Thanks for all the comments. This layout was made with a combination of efforts. The structures were built for me. Another friend keeps my locomotives running well. Two of us pretty much did the benchwork, trackwork and wiring, then I did the majority of the scenery.
I have more photos, but there are really only 2 to 3 places on the layout that photograph nicely. So basically my photos are of different trains in the same locations so I don't want to bore everyone.
I do have some construction photos that show how some things were planned and laid out that might be helpful to others that are starting.
