The LCCA Returned to Norfolk VA Area for Successful 9-21/22 Train Show
The Lionel Collectors Club of America returned to the Norfolk VA area for a successful September 21/22, 2013 Tidewater Train Show. As part of LCCA President Dennis DeVito's plan to reach out and touch 2300 members this year, the LCCA designated this show as a LCCA Special Event. LCCA club Secretary, Harry Hampson and his lovely wife Bridget met with about 30 LCCA members and greeted visitors who stopped by the LCCA table on both Saturday and Sunday. Members received a LCCA Special Pin and billboard sheet. Several lucky LCCA member raffle door prize winners received LCCA special commemorative product prizes just for visiting our display. Local LCCA member Brad Rock stopped by and voluntarily helped Bridget and Harry represent the club during the show. Thanks go out to Brad Rock and to all of the members and visitors who came up and talked trains. The LCCA table was next to the Tidewater O-gauge Association (TOGA) layout. LCCA members were able to participate in the running of the trains on this TOGA layout. This layout was previously featured during our 42nd Annual Convention in Norfolk VA July 2012. Thank you to the TOGA group for their hospitality and sharing in the usage of their layout. Everyone certainly had FUN during this train show. Thank you for participating and supporting the LCCA Special Events program.
We hope to see everyone back in Norfolk on the evening of November 2, 2013 at Paul Sharp’s place for another great charity special event to benefit the Norfolk Virginia Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughter. Please contact LCCA member Bruce Goettel757 481-4972 to reserve your spot and obtain more information about his fun and worthwhile charity dinner event with auction. If you love Lionel S-Gauge trains, you are going to love Paul’s tremendous layout and collection of America Flyer toy trains.
We hope to see you there!
