Steve,

LCCA President Dennis DeVito and I have had preliminary discussions about future LCCA Tinpate prduct offerings.  We are still in the investigative stage in the product development cycle, but we are going to try to offer our members more tin plate offerings in the next 12 months.

Thank you for your continued support of the LCCA and positive feedback.

Best Regards

Al,

I'll second Steve's reply.  The Lakeshore Limited is my favorite set.  From the pinstripe on the engine to the metallic paint - it is a thing of beauty!  I'll be setting up the Prospector this week end.  Can you tell us what lines are said by Lou?  Also, what ideas are you tossing around?  I would love to see more!

Thanks!

Randy,

I don't know exactly all of Lou's lines.  He passed away before he shared them with us.  From what I can here from this vide he says "please watch your step". "

Have a nice day!" "please make  way for exiting passengers". And maybe "ready to pull out.    There could e more.

Please provide me with your ideas and suggestions about future LCCA tin plate  offerings.  Accesories, buildings and trains are all in the discussions.  we welcome your input.

Al,

Thanks for the info on Lou - it will be fun to listen to!  As far as new tin, I'll request what many have been looking for, a Leland Detroit Monorail.  Perhaps if you have a contact at MTH, they could let you know the status of the tooling.  As far as accessories, how about a reissue of the illuminated, dual track Hellgate Bridge?

Thanks again!

PS they were supposed to contact the people who didn't order the cars with the Goliath  Are the cars al spoken for now?

Indydanny,

Al,

Any chance for matching "baggage, "RPO", "REA" and/or "combine" "Showroom" cars to go with the Goliath set?

Bob,

At the time of the initial offering, I inquired with Lou about add-on cars, and he responded quite emphatically that there would be no add-on showroom cars for the Goliath set.  No explanation, per se... just a blanket statement indicating it wouldn't happen.  Might even have been here on the forum that he responded.  I'll check the archives.

Now having said that... If the LCCA were to re-evaluate their position and offer one in the future, I'd sure be interested.

Bob,

Here's the excerpt from one of the Goliath threads earlier in 2013 to which I was referring.   FYI...

I wish LCCA the best with this offering, 'cause I have a "gut feel" Standard Gauge Tinplate is still an untapped market of sorts.  Maybe I'm right... maybe I'm wrong.  But I do think Standard Gauge Tinplate is something many of us would gravitate towards in that it has the magnificent, old-world "charm" which is uniquely different from the hi-rail scale offerings that I've been drawn to in the O-Gauge world.

I see the website has the cars also listed, but no image(s) yet.  I didn't make it to York last month, so I have a question... Will they be the "showroom" style passenger cars?  Any word on how many will be offered.  Website says a 3-car set.  Might there be any "add-ons"?  Just doing some budget planning!    Thanks!

Indydanny,

I checked with our business office.  All of the cars are spoken for.  There are none left.

David,

I will need to investigate whyo that was the LCCA's previous response.  Lou is not here to ask.  I will see what ai can find out.  Additional info will follow.

Al, if you could pull it off and work through the licensing issues, I'd love to see the LCCA offer a limited edition Standard Gauge Polar Express (400E locomotive and a few state-size passenger cars).

You wouldn't need to work hard selling it... just sit back and take the orders!!!

David

A tin PE set would be a easier sell in O gauge. Not as many of us play in standard gauge.

Al,

How about a 392E in a Milwaukee Road CHIPPEWA paint scheme similar to the livery used on the RichArt 1134 below?  Alternatively, how about a new original Standard Gauge design such as a tinplate Standard Gauge version of a Milwaukee Road steeple cab similar in appearance to the brass Overland O gauge model below?

This is the route to go for a tinplate Polar Express. There are a number of O-gauge guys who own one Standard gauge set and that is a Blue Comet. This set would be the new Standard for the one Standard Gauge set the O-Gauge guy owns.

The LCCA will not be offering a 4th car for this set.  This is such a limited volume set, it is not economically feasible to offer a single car offering.

Al,

In addition to the New Haven Comet above, how about producing a Missouri and Arkansas Railway "Blue Goose" version too!

M&A Railway Blue Goose Streamliner

Or how about a McKeen Motor Car such as the Bellingham Bay and British Columbia Railroad's KULSHAN possibly with McKeen trailers?

KULSHAN Motor Car 2 Postcard

I know either would sell better in O gauge tinplate, but how about producing one or both of them in Standard Gauge?

Norm Rish

Norm,

Unfortunately, Pennsy didn't have any McKeen Motor Cars.  The Wikepedia article below contains a list of the railroads which operated McKeens.
