The LCCA is offering a nice Lionel LionChief Engine to it's members. Is the red trim unique to this or is this something Lionel is offering that I missed? Can't seem to find it elsewhere.
Thank you,
Paul

Red roof is unique to the LCCA offering. The regular Lionel offering of a similar loco has a gray roof. The red roof is an LCCA original creation.

And no UP locomotive has or had a red roof.

Thanks Stu!
Since my layout has three rails I don't think the locals would mind the red roof. I always liked the way red accented yellow - must be from 17 years with Eastman Kodak.
Let's see, I can also justify the purchase by saying I'm helping the LCCA~~~

Ya never know, the UP may like that color combo and paint a few of their real deals with red top.

I seriously doubt it.

What's the cost on that loco?
**** missed it. when did it go on sale? Was it like a sold out in minutes type thing?
The cost to LCCA members is $399 plus $18 shipping and handling. Limited quantity available.
It was advertised for several months.

You may be right. They did put "Lionel Lines" on the 844 tender once.
That was a vinyl overlay. Vinyl overlays cost a LOT less (and was probably factored in to the ticket price) than painting a locomotive.
