Was the LCRU uses in early Lionel GP9 TMCC engines?
Can a LCRU be used in an older F3 with dual AC motors?

Yes, Early LCRU where in the GPs. Normally one motor. There were LCRU designed for 2 Motors. Like the 18313 GG-1. Not sure if there was a significant difference other than a harness for 2 motors. The TRIACs on th LCRU were rated at 8 amps. Not sure if the LCRU for 2 motor units had beefer TRIACs or not. I would think you would be OK. G

One more question.
The early TMCC GPs had some sort of sensor or switch or something on one of the non driven axles.
What is it for?
Will the TMCC / railsounds package work without that thing?
It was a Cherry switch for diesel reving. Yes, you would just need to adjust diesel sounds manually, or add a reed switch and magnet to a wheel. G
The magnet and reed switch will probably be the easiest to add, just superglue the little magnet to the wheel and position the reed switch. You can buy these parts from many parts suppliers for a few bucks.
