LED Lights for 3rd Rail Cars

Just kind of a random thought, but since many streamliners used fluorescent lights as that was cutting edge tech back then, wouldn't the bluish white be appropriate?  That said, I think I would prefer the warm white in my cars (simply because they are my cars).

The Golden Gate Depot (sister company of Sunset 3rd Rail) web site states the LED light strips are back in stock.  http://www.goldengatedepot.com/instock.html  I find the GGD "warm white" LED color to be ok for fluorescent lit cars.  The 12" strips have 4 LED's on them.  For my 1948 GGD Broadway obs I spliced in a 5th LED to better light the tail end lounge area.

And to add to Ed's post, you can experiment with various colors of marker pens to color the LEDs and get a more golden (or whatever) tone for earlier cars.  "Works fine, lasts a long time."

On "the Bay" there are a couple of sellers that sell LED strips. Each strip consists of 3-LED segments which can be cut and wired to a 12-volt DC source. We found a large roll of these on eBay and use them in most of our buildings.

Just this past Tues eve at the train club we changed lighting strips one of the members Golden Gate cas. Real easy to do. He got new strips from them and it is simple to do. We haven't seen them lite yet.
