I'm not very good when it comes to electronics and I'm certainly no expert but as GRJ has already indicated, if I experience any problems the first thing I do is pull out the Manual and, more often than not, the problem is resolved by the reset. Consequently I don't try and figure out what 'caused' the problem (because strange things can occasionally happen with our trains) but rather take comfort in knowing what to try first (ie. reset) if an issue should arise.
