Legacy Expansion Cab-2 does not find the base!!

The 993 base is a charger only, no receiver.

The Cab2 that came with it will require up grading

to V1.51 before your 990 base will be found

by the Cab2 that came with your new 993.

There is a later update, V1.52.

Sorry, but actually I don't get to update the new cab-2.

My question, I can go v1.0 for 1.51 direct?

You can go directly from V1.0 to V1.51 in the Cab2.

The Cab2 that came with my 993 with the V1.0

could not find the base until updated to V1.51.

The original base with 1.0 had to be sent back to Lionel for a mod, I don't know if there was a matching mod done to the CAB2 at the same time.  After the mod, you could load any version over previous or newer versions.

We must have been writing at the same time.

The CAb-2 from the 993 set DOES NOT have to go to Lionel to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5!!! . You can upgrade it directly from 1.0 to 1.52, I did the same thing about two months ago.

The chip that needed a fix is in the 990 Base,  not the CAB-2. THe 993 base is nothing more than a glorified charger and a place to store your CAB-2

It's really odd Lionel CS told you to send it in, because they were the ones who told me not to send my 993 in when I tried to get an RMA for the same thing.

1.5 CAB2 will see 1.3, but you will do better to have all of them at 1.52

Yesterday, I tired to update with blue model cab2 1.3, but not success. The red led blinking slow at 3 times.

I am afraid I do not quite follow what you are saying, but you can generally reload over the top of a failed laod.

Make sure you are using the correct base or cab module. Also do not worry about trying to connect the cab to the base until both are at the same version. Sometimes you do get communication errors

I could not upgrade to V1.3 or 1:51, only to 1.0, which came with the CAB2.

I made a movie I made the attempt, but did not succeed!

Start over. Download from Lionel V1.52. Using a black module

and the Legacy Utility program, program the module for the Cab2 using the

low speed setting of the utility program. Try the module to upgrade

the Cab2. Even if the base is V1.51, the Cab2 should work with it.Then upgrade

the base to V1.52.

But I think I'll have to send for Lionel, as the link below to read my cab-2 (expasion) does not have the trademark silver, as bought on E-bay I think it should be a lot of old and came with the same version 1.0.

Yes this correct what I'm doing!

Yesterday I made a downgrade of CAB2 (first) 1.51> 1.3> 1.51 and all went well.

Now with the new gives the error shown in the video.

Tonight I will update everything to 1.52.

Upgrade the base also,

I just upgrade to v1.52, my old CAB2 was perfectly now the new gave the same error.

I can only put the 1.0 version, but then he does not think the base.

BTW who did you buy your 993 from and did you ask them to make sure it was a current (not 1.0) version?

What blue modules did the 990 you have come with (not the 993)? Do you have a 1.2 or 1.3 Blue factory module available? I would be curious if you have the same problem trying to update the CAB-2 using those versions

And you are certain you are using the CAB2 upgrade and not the base upgrade?

If you can't get 1.2 or 1.3 to take then I would say there is a hardware issue with the CAB-2

I do not have the modules blue v1.2 or v1.1, v1.3 but I have, but I'm not successful update.

I will be sending to Lionel because I've tried everything and nothing.

The only blue module that works is v1.0 that came in the box CAB2 expansion.
