I am relatively new to TMCC/Legacy. I purchased a Legacy system and borrowed a friend's engine to test everything. All worked as advertised. I bought my first Legacy engine (older one), 6-11202 CP Ten Wheeler. There was no Legacy memory module included. I checked on Lionel site and it says module is not available. My manual doesn't seem to mention a memory module.

My question is do some Legacy engines not come with their own memory module? If so, should I use the default TMCC steam module? There are other Ten Wheelers that have a memory module available; can I use one of those?

For a while Lionel was not including the Orange module with engines.  You really don't need the module.  It just gives you a quick way of entering the engine config info.  You can enter it all by hand.  Select the engine number and then push the Info buttom to display the options.  Use the Scroll and Select buttons to set the options.  A Legacy 10 wheeler should be set to Steam, Legacy, Legacy Railsounds.  It's in the "Controlling Your Layout" section of the Legacy 990 manual.
