Just read on the Lionel Shipping Schedule web page that the newly tooled Legacy NW2 switchers in the most recent catalog have been dropped. This is disappointing. I hope they will appear in the future.

I wonder if Lionel is not going to tool up for the NW-2's is the LCCA version still a go?

Very interesting possibility, since the LCCA has started collecting the money for the preorders I am sure that Lou would be in the loop if there is a cancellation of production for the Texas Special.

I'm pretty sure the LCCA NW2 set is based on existing tooling, not what was intended for the Legacy NW2's.

According to the LCCA Lion Roars the frame is diecast from new tooling. The frame could be different than the other NW-2's in the current catalog.
I assume the LCCA version would be based on the Post War NW2 which has an oversize cab to accommodate the Pulmore motor. The Legacy engine was closer to true scale dimensions.
Wonder why it was dropped? It could have been done in scores of roadnames.

I'm surprised these were dropped too. I would have been in for one or two if they turned out nice. I love running smaller, scale-sized locos and switchers are perfect for that. Anyone ever get any news on the plans here? I guess it was a lack of preorders that killed it? Surprised it didn't make it to the new catalog.
