Legacy Question - Refueling

Press and hold the R,reset button, it will continue to make the "coal filling" sounds until you release it. If you dont already know,the "water filliing" sounds are activated by pressing and holding the top right button( icon looks like a steering wheel), same idea applys it will continue to fill until you release it.

This page from the Mikado manual might help.  The sound related buttons are pretty standard across most Legacy locomotives.

Does anything happen if you don't refuel the engin? I Never let it go pass 1/4 

A 1/4 of what? Coal, heavy oil, or diesel fuel?

Well, that's too bad then that you don't have any oil burning steam locomotive models.

I believe it is on "post 2008" legacy offerings. First generation legacy steamers i.e. PM,NKP and C&O Berks, UP 844,SP GS4 4449, Pennsy M1b to name a few do NOT have this feature.

It would be cool if there were an option to have the engine stop when it was out of coal/water for steam and fuel for diesel.

 

It is never quite empty, and does not ever stop. 

Or if the boiler blows up when it is out of water!

Simulating "out of fuel" by stopping the engine could add interest to an operating session.  Simulating a boiler explosion (RailSounds?) could be cool too.  Maybe to "reset" from a boiler explosion you'd have to send the engine back to Lionel...

It will run out and stall. Then you have to call AAA, who will bring just enough coal to get you to the nearest refueling place so you can fill up
