I have a Legacy Remote ver. 1.5.2 This weekend the base would come on, but when I pushed the CTC button to turn on the remote it would flash on and go off. I replaced batteries with freshly charged batteries and same response. I finally found that by holding down the button and putting a slight amount of side tension on the button the remote would come on and function as long as I held the CTC button in that position. Has anyone had one of the remotes apart and is there anything in it that can be serviced or am I looking at sending it back to Lionel. It was purchased new in October.

Mine did the same thing. Had to be sent to Lionel for repairs. Less than a 2 week turn around. Call them in the AM for a RA.

That's what I figured I would do.
The ctc button is positioned over two tiny pc board pushbuttons. They are not always in sync as far as distance required to actuate them both at the same time.
I think a weak feature in the design of the thing.

Fill in the necessary info and ask them if they need the base as well. You should get a response tommorow with your RA#
I have never had them NOT want the base as well (3 different times). I tried to talk them out of it once but was informed that time the base probably needed a charging circuit upgrade.

Called last Monday for a RA# and sent it same day repaired and received back today.
Sent mine in to Lionel last week for the same problem. Seems like there are several others who have posted on here about similar issues. Awaiting repair and return of mine. Lionel has acknowledged receipt of my unit.
Keeping fingers crossed this will be a long term fix. Will be very disappointed if this happens again after paying close to list price at my LHS.
