Quick Legacy Beginner's question - is it safe or risky to upgrade from v1.52 right to current v1.72 in one step ... as opposed to upgrading to successful versions from v1.52 until you get to v1.72?

Yes it will be fine. The latest Cab2 Code is 1.72 and Base 1.60.
Mitch - thanks for your reply. Curious if have you taken this path - and what has been you specific experience?
I am too new with Legacy to want to deal with undoing an upgrade or dealing with a newer version that has bugs.

I have done the exact upgrade you describe on a Cab2 without issue.

I've done upgrades from 1.20 to 1.72 without any issues for the CAB2 and 1.20 to 1.60 to the command base. You can upgrade/downgrade freely to any version from 1.30 through the current. 1.20 couldn't write modules, but it could be upgraded as long as you had a module.

I appreciate your reply on the paths you have taken without problems. In my technology days I could never be risky especially with a client without some due diligence from reliable sources such as the OGR members.
Given that to get there I have to give up my two blue v1.52 modules, turned into pseudo black modules using the conversion technique you helped define, to get v 1.72 on them ... I want to avoid any tough backpedaling if possible.
