it is my understanding having talked to some of the lego train people that the trains not readily available. some thing about the clubs.
Sadly seem Lego is really in the "sleeping mode" with their trains...nothing new this year from an already very, very poor offering the last couple of years.
Ebay could be a good source for older model/set/kit
I am surprised that Lego does not put out more train kits. Every year I go to a train show in La Crosse WI and there are a couple of different Lego layouts set up. I would say those are by far the most popular layouts for the kids. I know my kids always want to build a lego layout when we get home. I even tried to find out where to buy them once, but I have no interest in having to hunt them down. I know where I can buy my O Gauge trains.
I was at the Lego store in Bridgewater Commons this past weekend. I saw a nice Maersk container loco and car set. They also had a few sets in stock.
