Bob, are the Ballantine's and Merchants Despatch from RMT?

Joe- the white MDT is an Atlas car. Ballentine is RMT from the recent run. Bought it at Trainworld along with the 2 Cannonball's.

The Utica Club are from JR Junction in Syracuse. They are MTH cars. I have a Penn Central MDT SW8 so the MDT fleet needed to be expanded......

Four more reefers from my herd: MTH Coors, Old Milwaukee (latest acquisition from Atlas O), Shiner Bock (a popular Texas beer from a small brewery in Shiner, Texas, which car was a limited edition made by K-Line for a small train dealer in San Antonio that closed a number of years ago), and Moosehead (a MTH special edition for a Canadian train club).

@RSJB18, well I guess I know one thing I'm buying when we go to Trainland.  I already had a Williams Ballantine reefer so I didn't give the RMT much thought when I ordered four from Pat's Trains but after seeing yours one will have to come home with me.

@ToledoEd, I've always had my eye on that one just never pulled the trigger hoping for a better deal.

@breezinup, that's a nice collection of custom run beer cars.

@breezinup - Hey !  Don't discount "Shiner Bock" my friend, its still one of the largest seller's here in central Texas and the grocery shelves are well stocked!  Great reefer by the way and I wish I could find one...

Best Wishes and Happy Thanksgiving

Don

Hi, Don -I didn't discount Shiner Bock. I said it was "a popular Texas beer from a small brewery in Shiner, Texas." I drink it regularly, in fact. I think there were only a small number of these cars made. The dealer was, if I remember correctly, a place called Lone Star Trains in San Antonio which, as I mentioned, closed some years ago. I'm surprised a small dealer like that was able to get a special run from K-Line. I don't recall how I found out about it. I wish I'd purchased several!

As you probably know, the brewery was founded by Cosmo Spoetzl, a German immigrant, and it's actually the Spoetzl Brewery. Interestingly, the car is lettered for the S.A. & A.P. Rwy, the San Antonio and Aransas Pass. In 1934, the Southern Pacific consolidated the San Antonio and Aransas Pass into their Texas and New Orleans subsidiary road.

Thanks for the nice Thanksgiving wishes. I hope your holiday is great as well.

Tom
