Here are some custom painted beer cars I picked up recently.
Jim, I've got that Genny light reefer. Is that one of your custom runs?

Lee I've always wanted one of those. Every time I've seen one at a train show it appeared the graphics were all applied as decals. Never knew if that was how Lionel did it or if they were repros. I even asked that question on the forum once. Didn't get an answer.

Joe there pad printed there not decals and there pretty durable too hope this helps next time you see one pick one up.
I guess the "shiny" decal outline must have been the edges of the pad.
More Reefer Madness...
My 0-6-0t doing a run by with growing collection of 36 foot woodsided beer reefers.
Here is a Hamm's Beer car I picked up for 15.00 on ebay, Nice Beer cars to all who posted!

I used to have about 40 beer cars, nearly all billboard cars. Because billboard cars were mostly gone by my era, I sold them all but my Stroh's car. It was my wife's favorite beer while at Wayne State in Detroit, and she bought the car for me.
Coming soon from the Northern Michigan Railroad Club. Made by MTH, with the assistance of Pat's Trains.
This car is based on a real photo of a Copper Range Railroad car. It was a pre-Prohibition brewery located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, shut down then and never reopened...nothing to do with any other Rheingolds.
The Short's car is a fantasy car commemorating a popular small brewery currently operating in the Northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

99 Reefers of beer on the track... 99 Reefers of beer...
Two beautiful trains, Rick!!!
SITKA: Thank You tough choice.
Apple55: I will have to work on that 99 Reefers of Beer I may have that many between the MTH and MPC Billboard Reefers Series, let me work on that now I have a layout big enough for 99 Reefers of Beer if I can keep them coupled.
Some OEM.............some ( all except one ) home made.

Thanks Mark.
It might not be something many can fathom , but Judy and I would go outside for a break on the patio with a couple adult beverages on a pretty regular basis
..........Judy started peeling labels off of some of the bottles ( not always an easy task with short fingernails ) and came up with the idea of 'beer tank cars'.
After having labels I had to find the cheapest tank cars I could get a hold of since I was going to be repainting them anyway. The Yuengling tanker is the only one in the string of beer tankers that was OEM.
Those tank cars look super, especially considering they are labels. I may have to try this tonight and will need to have an empty bottle (twist my arm, please).
Here is an uncommon one I just bought from forumite gilly@n&w. If I remember correctly, it is a NJ hi-railer car from the past.
NYC RS-3 moving a few Beer cars before NYS Winter storm
Here are some beer cars produced by New Marx
It seems fitting to have beer advertised on tinplate cars.

@Sitka posted:Thanks for the kind reply coach joe, Family worked at the brewery for years. Got the car's at the gift shop, they don't have them anymore to bad. The yellow car was a weaver I bought as a kid in the early 70's. They made some as a promo from what I understand. Father also had a N-gauge Reefer UC car.
God Speed! "Keep them Cold"
Hi Sitka!
With the Utica area steeped in both a railroad and beer-making traditions, it’s good to see another native be interested in both.
I also have an N scale car, from the early 1980’s. My father picked it up in Denver if all places!
UC for me!
My brother in law is a huge Moosehead fan, I had to get these…
Thanks!

PS- Beer cars are so cool right now!
I have a couple of beer cars
As a poor, struggling freshman at Siena College, I drank UC and Genny, but only as beers of last resort. No offense, Mark, but to my sophisticated palate, even Old Bohemian tasted better!
