I have that car and when I finally two-rail it (to accompany my 4141), I plan on putting four "spotlight" leds shining on the casket, one facing each corner from the ceiling. The sailor figure is a good idea, one at each end of the casket.

A post above reminded me of this that I found in a Springfield, OH Goodwill store:

It is very close to 0 Scale, I wish that there had been two of them.

Chicago Hot Dog Red Sauce (AKA ketchup) on flat car.  This is an ornament sold by Target.  In Chicago, you don't put ketchup on hot dogs.

I posted elsewhere here the other day, but thought it would also fit in here.

I salvaged a work caboose and "mint" bullion car and painted them to match my Lionel Postwar Milwaukee Road EP5.

I thought twice about painting the "Mint" car after stripping it as I discovered that the shell was clear, and kinda neat that way, but paint it received.

Is there a manufacturer marking anywhere?  I really like this and if it is close to O scale, it might be a good candidate for a power kitbash!

Not on that unit. I do have two other ones that have this logo on them:

Due to the similarity of the two units, I think that they were made by the same toy company.

The sounds and lighting effects are the same on both (be advised gentle readers, turn your volume down a bit ):

Note that the shorter car scales out to 9' wide and about 50' long; the long  car 10' wide and about 70' long.

All aboard for Beijing!

Note that I plan on two-railing the 70 footers at some point.

This a Marx 35461 Pacific Fruit Express ventilated refrigerator tin plated car.  It was a rare hobby shop find and purchase and the first time I have seen one.  I had to have it to run with my Marx 027 tin plate trains.  It has doors that open.

I run a Christmas train on the layout every Christmas season.  The Christmas train is stationed in the hidden tunnel and magically appears to delight everyone.

I made the reindeer cars from three junker Scout sized flat cars and figures and reindeer from a Hallmark Cards Santa, Sled and Reindeer set.  I painted the flat cars white as reindeer like snow and will show up better with a light color.  The reindeer's feet were attached to the flat car with clear epoxie glue.

A blinking red light was installed in Rudolf’s nose and a power pick up was added to the car.

The original Hallmark Cards Santa sled was too big so a smaller one was made from balsa wood and sized for Hallmark Cards Santa.

@Choo Choo Charlie that is one of the COOLEST Christmas cars ever! I thought the k-line flat with reindeers & Santa's sleigh (K691-7402) was neat originally. Excellent job!

This Christmas I combined a standard depressed flat bed car and the toy story hand truck to make a special package that adorned my Christmas tree train set

The Christmas Train has a Lionel 36743 Operating Santa Claus Bobbing Head Box car.  The kids love seeing Santa bob his head and the train goes by.

A triple dome tank car is not that common.  I was happy to get one, especially a Gulf Oil one as most of my tank cars are Sunoco ones.

The light bulbs are an LED Christmas necklace mounted in a wooden frame.  The lights are lit with Evans Designs 5mm white LEDs wired to a 3rd rail pickup.

Here is a Jappanese tinplate "commuter" train that I purchased when I was sent to Japan by the DOD.  Friction powered loco and two cars as a complete set.  There is not one word of English on the whole box !

Actually that represents a "top of the line" long distance sleeping car train of the type that ran south from Tokyo/Osaka in the post-steam era.
