Does anyone know if Willis Hobbies in NY is closing? Went there this weekend; their O gauge layout was gone, the HO layout is for sale; shelves looked somewhat empty. Asked one of the guys working there what is happening, and got a very vague answer about the layouts.

Would be a shame; this place has been in business for a very long time; I've been going there since I was a kid.  While their prices are higher than most online retailers, I find the staff to be very knowledgeable.

Appreciate any insight.

Steve Ford, the owner of the first floor of Willis Hobbies, is retiring after fifty years of working at the store.  He is liquidating as much as he can.  I've heard that his brother Ken may be taking over what's left of the first floor and maintaining a smaller model train and model department.
