has anyone bought and run a lionel Lionchief plus diesel yet ? is it worth the money?

Since no one has replied here goes. I don't have any Lion Chief +, but several folks here on the forum have reported being happy with their purchases of both Lion Chief and Plus. You might try a search, although you will probably get a lot of threads with questions and stuff not related to their purchase.

I believe they have not arrived at dealers yet. I've had one on order for a couple of months.
Don't think they've been delivered as yet. At street prices in the low $200s, they should be good value compared with locos from Lionel without the remote, and competitors' products that either don't have remote control/command capability, or require purchasing additional equipment to operate in remote/command mode.
Similar to the steam locomotives that have already been delivered and reported on, these are semi-scale, not full on scale in terms of details/prototypical accuracy. But likely good to great value, with lots of play value for the money.
I have one (LC + RS3 Rio Grand) on order from my LHS. When I ordered it in April the projected delivery was mid-July. We'll see...
My understanding is that they should start arriving at dealers in the next couple of weeks or so.
We have ordered several LC+ GP-7s and RS-3s and are very much looking forward to testing them and reporting back to you. If they are anything like the original LC diesels and the LC+ steamers, they should be quite a value for the money.

Any update on when these are shipping?
I plan to gt a couple but as I understand it it will be end of the month at the earlist before I can buy one.
They look like an excellent value. My only rap on them is they are not compatible with Legacy or TMCC. The controller is hard coded to the specific engine so if you purchase 2 or 3 engines you will have 2 or 3 controllers.
But if you buy two of the same diesel..... Voila! Instant MU!
