I did a search on running LionChief with DCS. I kept coming up with topics on running them together on the same track. That’s not what I want to do. What I want is to run a LionChief all on its own for my daughter using the DCS system. So my question is can this be done and how? Do you treat the LionChief like a conventional engine or is it the same as programming a TMCC engine? Running TMCC engines with DCS I’ve Done. I know nothing about this LionChief.

A regular LionChief engine cannot be run conventionally (some people say you can crank the remote to full speed and then use the transformer throttles, but I wouldn't bank on it); it is controlled solely with the handheld remote. (Note: a LionChief Plus engine can be run conventionally, but not regular LionChief.)

AFAIK, since the LionChief runs on 18 volts, like the DCS system, the LionChief engine can be run on the same track and at the same time as a DCS engine, but it can only be controlled by the LionChief handheld remote - not the DCS remote.
