I think I'm missing the smoke stack screen on my 1862 General, but am not sure. Was there one? The plastic screw mounts on the inside of the stack show no evidence of threading so I don't know if (a) there was a screen or not and (b) if so, was it held on some way other than screws?
Here's why I'm asking. While rooting through the attic looking for Christmas decorations a few weeks ago, I came across my old General from 1959. With lube, oil, and a good cleaning, it runs great. (Thanks and a tip o' the hat to the folks on this forum). Everything is complete in the set except for the screen and I'd like to replace it.
