I'm unfortunately not in that area, but please post some pics!  Ever since a meet I went to a couple years ago and saw a fellow's table with some really incredible OO stuff (including cars that were in something that resembled a salesman's sample box for each car), I've rediscovered how beautiful the OO was and still is.

Not to completely sidetrack things, but to me the OO and early Lionel HO of the late 1950's into the early 1960's are both overlooked and underrated.

That would be fantastic to see as well!  My next video for YouTube will more than likely highlight a Christmas present from my Father-in-Law a few years ago, which was inside an unassuming but large tin for Walker's Shortbread cookies: a nice selection of Lionel HO!  It had one complete 0625 Pacific and another without tender (but both run), the red M&St. L Hustler switcher which runs like new, and some freight cars (which include a black Sun Oil tank car, which I can't find any info about).

OO and early Lionel HO are favorites for me, and always have been.  Now I have to convince my Dad to give me part of his collection, which is the Lionel HO Santa Fe Alco FAs with the passenger cars!

Yes sir!  That's the one!  No original box, but nothing's broken off it!

I also have to find the bubble for the front of the helicopter on another one of the cars.  It's all there and works well, but missing the clear front.

My thinking is that what I have may have been purchased all in pieces, because I don't see it as a set in any of the catalogs.

But that's the tank car!

Seriously?  Wow!  I really had no idea about that car.  All I knew was that I didn't see it in any of my research to pinpoint a year for the stuff I have, thinking it was a set or if the person just had various pieces over time or bought things individually at once to make up their own set.

I'm really amazed that there is something there that's really a special piece!

That looks fantastic!  Thank you for posting it!  The next time my parents come over to our house, I have to show this to my Dad.  He's also been a huge fan of the Lionel OO, and will love seeing this!

I can't wait to see what you have in store for the 1960's Lionel HO layout!  That was also something I've thought about doing: just a basic layout, using Lionel HO track, trains, and more than likely the Plasticville HO buildings.
