Here's one I've never seen mentioned here: The hinged stakes on the left end of my #364 Log Loader:
are dragged towards a passing RailSounds-equipped tender. I imagine it is the magnet in the speaker assembly doing this, but it happens with every RailSounds tender I have!

Yes, that happens. A long time ago, someone posted that the hinged stakes were attracted to a tender and scratched it as it passed.

Jon, You could always swap out the Fatboy speaker and put in one from MTH.

many of my tenders also pull the stakes as you have mentioned.
i put a small magnet on the inside of one of the stakes to prevent the tender's speaker magnet from drawing the stakes toward the tender.

Could you just magnetize the stakes instead? So that the stakes repel the speakers?
Jon....I just wanted to let you know that according to a recent report from the Federal Government, the speakers in Lionel tenders can cause cancer due to the intense magnetic exposure over a long period of time......

I knew it! I have long suspected that Mike Reagan was a Jedi, and that Lionel used 'The force' to assist their outstanding sound features. Now we have absolute proof.
Answer to your problem Jon; since the tenders pull the stakes outward going forward, you must only run them in reverse; this will push the stakes back in toward the loader!!!!!
That might explain why MTH never copied the 364. Their speaker magnets might not be strong enough to pull the stakes down....
Well, are you running an oil, coal or "wood" filled tender...maybe it's trying to help?
