Has anyone converted the Lionel gondola with the cover on the top of the car to 2 rail? These look like nice cars for 3 rail but since they weren't designed for 2 rail conversion,am thinking it might be a difficult conversion if possible at all. I'd put Atlas 2 rail trucks with roller bearing caps on also.

While I don't know anything about 2 railing a car, most may not know what that CSX car is, its a Lionel PS-5 gondola to help others.
Since I model the end of steam, I used bettendorf trucks for the most part. I converted 3 so far by just replacing the wheelsets in the Lionel trucks with Athearn or IM wheelsets. Then I take out the false floor and drill and tap for 2-56 on the body to install Kadee couplers.
