The original shipping date was summer 2013, now it's Dec.2013. This was going to be my Christmas gift from my wife but it does't look like it will be here.

Welcome to Lionel...the company founded on giving millions of children in the 1940s, 50.s and 60's a catalog in the summer, and their orders by Christmas.
Now adays, it all depends on whether the Chinese slave labor can get the colors right and the currents of the pacific ocean.

According to the last two shipping lists posted, they are being shipped. I am just as bummed as you are.
Now that they are shipping, I am just waiting to see how long it actually takes mine to get to me.
It came in the other day and I picked it up yesterday. Very nice looking loco and cars.
