Lionel 628 performance | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hey all, recently I purchased a 628 center cab, and I wanted to know how the performance is. I haven't had a chance to run it, and likely won't for awhile. I assume similar to the cheaper Alcos because of the same motor. While I do own nw2's and Alcos, this is the first center cab I've been able to get.

Yes, the same exact architecture as the 600/601/621 motor trucks, with a few negligible differences, along with all of the issues that come along with them.

I had two 628’s one had glossy paint and the other was more flat. Both ran well.
